Ottawa Hills traveled all the way to Stryker to face off against the mighty Stryker Panthers on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Tipoff started around 7 pm and it was surely to be a night to remember, for it was Homecoming. Homecoming had a twist this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic; however, it did not startle the Panthers. The Stryker Panthers were still more than ready to put on a show for everyone watching.
“Each team had to dig deep and find out their opponents weakness in order to win the ballgame.”
The game started off slow with the Panthers only scoring 4 points in the first quarter while the Green Bears scored 2. It was a fast paced, defensive game out on the floor that night despite what the score showed. Both teams held their ground, while limiting their opponent to as few points as possible. By halftime, the score was tied with both teams entering the locker-rooms with 6 points. Each team had to dig deep and find out their opponents weakness in order to win the ballgame. At the start of the second half, the Panthers and the Green Bears came out clawing and the crowds went nuts. Sophomore Levi Barnum and senior Kaleb Holsopple helped the Panthers get on the board while motivating their team to keep battling. By the end of the fourth quarter, the Green Bears ended up with a win despite the Panthers trust in one another, and hard work on the court. The final score was 19 to 31, Green Bears.
The Stryker Panthers were led by Kaleb Holsopple and Levi Barnum who scored 6 points each, followed by (Sr.) Spencer Clingaman with 3, and seniors Jamison Treace and Payton Woolace with 2 points each.
